ABSTRACT
The Cypriot dialect has its own phonetic features which differentiate it from the Modern Greek spoken in Greece. Thus, Cypriots have different problems than Greeks do when it comes to pronouncing Spanish. This essay will include only those phonetic difficulties that pertain to communication, that is, those problems which cause phonological mistakes. In addition, it will suggest activities that help to promote effective learning practices for the classroom, so that students can overcome these phonetic problems.
