ABSTRACT
Reading is not very fashionable at present among the youth. Our society today is characterized by a permanent access to information, which is why asking a student to read and invest time in learning a new language seems an illusion. Nevertheless we would prefer to see this unfavorable situation as a challenge to reactivate and further develop existing strategies for improving the comprehension of written Spanish as well as arouse interest for other lives, cultures and realities related in the text. We therefore recommend the usage of digital tools, social media and games as the preferred cognitive methods for creating favorable context to help students make this experience in daily life. In other words, it´s all about applying resources already used by students for our objectives. Especially the “gamification of learning” has an important educational approach. It improves the learning experience both in introducing game elements and in using a digital environment already familiar to students.
